A very pup-ular spot in the summer months, (although hardcore dogs enjoy all year) is the holy grail of Chicago dog amenities, Montrose Dog Beach. Spanning nearly four acres, this beachfront slice of sand was designed especially to be dog-friendly and is run entirely by volunteers.

Explore all the Lake County Forest Preserves have to offer. A complete listing of amenities can be found here, which includes the very popular Prairie Wolf Dog Park— it’s 44-acres and includes a pond!

Also up north in Hinsdale, you can find the Katherine Legge Memorial Park which offers a massive dog-friendly area.

If your pup is practicing (or playing) in anticipation of the Westminster Dog Show, be sure to check out Jackson Bark. Complete with a teeter-totter, tunnels, hoops, and A-frame ramps, this urban adventure is a south side favorite.

We can’t forget about neighborhood favorites, including Chicago’s first dog park Wiggly Field, or the massive Portgage Park dog area. A complete listing can be found here.

A reminder to ask your vet for dog-friendly tags at your next visit. City of Chicago rules can be found here.
